Congratulations America: We’ve almost made it through the first decade of this new 21st century. How impressive we were, United & Counted in an historic 2008 reversal of fortune of eight years of abuse of power. Yes, for one brief shining moment, we were “We the People” again wielding the power to govern our government as originally intended. Yet, just like the Israelites in the desert, here we stand complaining “yeah, but what have you done for us lately,” not realizing our doubts and fears are fueled by those who fuel the economy for their own global satisfaction.
Truly, this has been a painful year for far too many, but the pain we endure must include a realization that there are those both in and seeking public office who simply don’t care about you, your family or your mortgage payments. They are the “money changers” about whom we were warned centuries ago. They are the users up and abusers of the great gifts, of this exceptional work in progress, we call America. They have become convincing imitators of goodness, profaning our faith and feigning patriotism. However they are not the good guys, for good guys do not look down on us from on high, while saying “no” to our Asking, Seeking & Knocking for a more secure footing. They want us focused on personal problems and fearful of what tomorrow may bring, for when they keep us standing still & distracted, we long for what we think has been. And they want back in!
So unless we wish to have our lives, the security of our children’s future and our Nation’s International Dignity ground into the ground again, it’s time to join those, like the passengers and crew on Christmas Day in the skies above Detroit, and stand up for ourselves. Willingly, Happily and Gladly be counted in the Census and counted on in the voting booth, so that “We the People” determine our family’s representation. For if we allow Conservative State Legislations to “run the table” like Tom DeLay playing with the numbers, we will neither be counted, or even count. The Census, like the voting booth, count us in, in “The Land of the Free.” This is our only path to being Nationally seen, heard, respected, preserved, protected, defended and prospered. This is what “United We Stand” needs to mean.
Conservatives protect the status quo, because the status quo protects them. So if you want to progress forward and upward, vote for Progressive thinkers. Naturally, we can count on GOP who got us here, to “take” us again, when we fear. However, to Reinvigorate Job Creation, Improve Education for all our Children, Develop our Communities, Protect our Religious Freedoms without imposing them on others, our new President needs to count on “We the People” to help him resurrect our “government of the people, by the people, for the people.” If we run scared, Conservatives win their PR battle with misinformation, regurgitating talking points and spewing dribble from talking heads.
In 2010, to guarantee our Voting Districts in a way that honestly represents us in The U. S., “We the People” must be counted on to be “The Voice of the People.”

PLEASE HEAR US and LISTEN!

I understand what is, as well as what isn’t in the long awaited Health Care bill voted on in Congress this Christmas Eve, and I support the President completely.
I’m writing for those who aren't as fortunate as we, because what’s left of the President’s desire for Health Care Reform after "the good, bad and ugly" Congress has inflicted upon it, is still a wonderful step forward, at long last, but your one sided communications fall far too short of what the public needs to hear to enthusiastically support it. In short, the Republicans are winning the Info/PR war.
"We the People" need to hear from you that you have heard us. So make your various websites more interactively user friendly. There needs to be back & forth exchange before you can call it a conversation with America or "Change." While Americans are not as dumb as Republicans think, many are not quite as sophisticated as the President, and you guys need some On Camera work at communicating his great ideas, to achieve a greater majority.
As senior White House Staff, you need to understand that although Health Care Reform will favorably impact on our overall National economy eventually, every moment of every day and around most family dinner tables, “We the People” are focused on what is impacting negatively on their daily personal economy – an impact that far too often has resulted, not from anything they have done, but what was done to them by their own Bush League government and Banking institutions. Just one example: loans can only be made to people with jobs and a good credit rating, but after Banks without warning lowered credit lines and raised interest rates on credit cards and other sources of buying power for the general public, “We the People” were left with plummeting credit scores. Thus they can’t get the loans the President is asking Banks to make, especially if they find themselves suddenly unemployed or even under employed.
Now having had one Emperor "W" with a "Bismarck" Dick sidekick, most Americans are not asking the President to be a Dictator, but perhaps a little bit of an FDR wouldn't hurt. While I applaud the President's courageous efforts to reunite our country with Bipartisanship, the reality is, some very greedy Republicans and Bank Board Members got us, the USA and now the President into this financial funk, and they care very little about him or the Hopes & Dreams of Americans.
So please Mr. President, Stop Asking and Start Telling: Real Health Care Reform requires more than 60 votes in Congress. It requires Health Care Reform in our National MIND-SET: YES, both eating habits of a fast food nation and Fast Food Corporations must share in responsibility for our National Obesity; YES, Healthy Reform in Public Education is as necessary to the development of our youth, as are more healthy items on the school lunch menu, for an educated mind is a most valuable asset to any Nation; YES, Healthy Campaign Finance Reform would lead the way to lucrative health in any National Budget for Preventive Care, for bridges, schools, Community Centers and fewer foreclosures. For the best of Health, invest more in Peace and less in war. This is the Truth about America that will set us free from The Takers. Then again we will be “Sweet Land of Liberty.”
This is the America I remember in my dreams and it is “…of thee I sing:” “Let Freedom Ring!”

TIME TO REMEMBER!
After two terms of “dead or alive” Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Rice/Gonzales/Addington/Yoo misadministration, it is baffling that many Americans remain convinced by the Rovian marketing of their version of reality. How utterly afraid GW and the Big Dick must be that we will someday wake up to the Truth: the Bush League, consistent with Reagan’s castration of Government responsibility to the American people (including Tea Baggers), chose to respond to the murders on 9/11, not by pursuing those in Afghanistan who were responsible, but rather by using young American men and women as pawns in a wholly unjustifiable war for short term oil riches and long term financial draining of a potential middle eastern empire.
The TRUTH: every life sacrificed in and for the IRAQ war is a life used and destroyed by its own government; Our first 21st Century administration lacked any sense of humanity, lost in its own clichés, sound bites, secrets, lies and smirking rhetoric, it redirected “We the People” into We the Duped, as we sat watching the double talk of Corporate owned "talking heads."
Wouldn't this season of snowy Holidays be a good time to take off our “Love It or Leave It” blinders, put on our thinking caps and get actively involved with the only Truth that will set us free from the low road lesser men & women would have us continue to trod, against all that we claim to stand for. If indicting traitors from a former administration is too awkward for National consumption, then can we at least stop listening to and being fooled by those “Left Behind” as proof of a most shameful period in our Nation’s history: The "Dark Ages of Bush & Cheney.
True, we were never as perfect as our movies & history books portrayed, but at least we were honest enough to admit we were a work in progress attempting to live up to the Ideal that was the Idea of America. However, that was before our religious beliefs became a weapon the GOP used to incite our mob mentality. If we continue to follow their fearful lead, we will be forced to profess the belief that in just one single year, one good man elected to the highest office of the Land should have eliminated all the challenges that face us. This is indeed group self-denial. Although, perhaps if we had elected someone like Barrack Obama before, and indeed waged the correct war where Al Qaeda was instead of where the oil is, we just might have found and defeated those who invaded America and murdered us on September 11, 2001 -- eight long years ago.
However, we didn’t do that. No we, in a state of righteous indignation over oral sex denials, elected an unprincipled regime who wiped their oily boots on the Constitution of the United States of America while the blood of our youth dripped from their hands. Wrapped in the American flag, they marketed themselves as standard bearers of family values. We were duped by fairy tales of spin. So will we continue to allow Congressional Republicans to blame and criticize those who are trying to clean up the mess dumped on our Nation by these stampeding elephants in search of shadowy hiding places, OR shall we stand tall, accept, if not admit the unfortunate effect of the Bush League on our personal economy and International reputation, and join our new President in a period of repair and healing: "United We Stand?"
The choice is ours, but I hope the next time you feel yelling “Kill the Bill,” or screaming out impatient talking points over the Health Care Reform compromises of Senator Harry Reid or the length of war or surge of troops, or the loss of jobs, the foreclosures and devalued stocks, might I suggest you insist that the Bush/Cheney Administration be brought to Justice for High Crimes and Misdemeanors, so you can address those truly responsible, as well as their accomplices before & after the fact: The C Street House Family & their “Family Values” friends, including but not limited to: John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, Eric Cantor, Jim DeMint, Michele Bachmann, Sarah Palin, the John Birch Society and the how low can you go Joe Liebermann. The Choice is clear and it's Yours to make.

BANKS Got USA, You and US into This, so Don't Ask, TELL: NO FORECLOSURES for a Year AND accept any monthly mortgage payment over 50% of the home buyer's regular payment. It's only humane that those struggling to pay their mortgages be given this chance to survive financially and keep the greatest investment any family can make: A Home of their own in which to Live!
In the usual “The House Never Loses” mind-set, Bank CEOs and their well placed lobbyists choosing to “cut off their noses to spite their faces,” have decided that Americans will lose their homes (& Credit Rating) before the Banking Institutions will make any adjustment to the new post Bush League economic reality facing our Nation and working families. Time for “We the People” to put Family before CITI and admonish Supreme Court for proclaiming “Corporations are individuals.” They Are NOT, but our children are!
Thanks to Conservatives and the 1886 Supreme Court interpretation of the 14th Amendment, the “Land of the Free” is infected with a lucrative institutionalized corporate structure that is anti-individual. Buyer Beware: Wall Street Conservatives and Banking Institutions who have delivered unto us this second coming of “The Great Depression,” sail on ships kept afloat by Our Money, leaving "We the People" bobbing up and down in a personal sea of RED.
So instead of continuing to bailout out those who monthly gouge our personal family budget, Let's Stop our flow of money from reaching the Board rooms & yachts of Banker’s schemes, by putting it in the vaults of Community CREDIT UNIONS.
"We the People" need to close our accounts with International Banks who have purchased other Banks using Our Money, and invest in our family budgets by opening accounts with Local Community Banks.
Mr. President: Tell the TAKERS that you support that and see how quickly they find some human decency. When millions of Our Money move from the coffers of BofA, CITI & Wells Fargo, “Change we can Believe in” will naturally follow. Then see, How Green the Valley will be for American families from “Sea to Shining Sea!”

Our Children REAP What the RIGHT REDS SOW:
Since 2000 we’ve been travelling a less admirable road, but its inception wasn’t Florida chads or a Supreme Court compromised; nor Ohio voting machines or Iran Contra; nor even Watergate’s felons. The very moment “We the People,” decided to collectively ignore corporate greed and become “the takers” of the easy money Banks heaped upon us, "we stepped in it." Once chasing the next buck became our raison d’être, our children’s future outsourced and their education & sense of family & neighborhood replaced with online shopping, tweets and political sound bites of insulting "spin,” our National path became the low road. Then Bush League assured quicksand was added into the mix and stirred to their $astifaction.
However, it all started the first time someone seriously felt justified in professing "America, Love it or Leave it,” and “My Country, Right or wrong!” It started where the Middle Class is neither welcome or invited: in gated communities, Bank Board Rooms and sanctuaries of Congressional Lobbyists. It started when our Second Continental Congress removed freedom for slaves from the Declaration of Independence. It was the Sedition Act of John Adams; Andrew Jackson’s insistence that “the red savage” was dispensable because he was an inferior race and a conquered people; it was Tyler & Polk in Mexico; Lincoln’s assassination & Wilson’s isolationism; Hoover’s inability to deal & Eisenhower’s waiting for the last round of golf before inviting us to the wedding between Military justification & Corporate manipulation; it was Nixon’s redefining presidential power, Reaganomics castrating Government involvement in our lives and a CIA Chief serving as Commander-in-Chief; it was our over reaction to oral sex in Biblical proportions! Thus we now reap the red ink residue sown by "Cool, Cool Conservative Men," and our families get to pay bills which, like our children, have been "Left Behind.” Final costs reserved for us now by the Flag Waving Right Reds is the red blood of our youth irrigating foreign soil – innocently believing in the Service Deferred Dick hiding amongst the Bushes.

CONSERVATIVES Have Their Facts RIGHT!
FACT: the starting point of any healthy debate on behalf of Freedom, Justice and the American way must begin, and Rightly so, with protection for those who profit from the sale of insurance and their souls, while Conservatively insuring savings on the expense of providing Health Care.
FACT: That we are even debating the need for affordable health care for all Americans, though good Republicanism, is as American as rotten apple pie.
FACT: Heated exchanges in the dog days of summer solidifying a marriage of convenience between GOP and Blue Dog Democrats, even before their divorce from the American People was final, is what makes Tom Delay dance on the tombstone of “that government of the people, by the people, for the people…”
FACT: a purchased government, assisted by corporate owned showbiz oriented news media is an invaluable combination for our enlisting in the ever increasing impressive membership of “Third World Countries.” “Right On!”
FACT: Mindset of American Corporations, especially Banking Institutions is Capitalism in its purest state: “The Rich Get Rich and the Poor get Poorer;” “We the People” know “What’s good for General Motors is good for the USA:” Bankruptcy, you say? See your Conservative Congressman for an estimate today, but enclose fee to expedite.
FACT: Rightly re-directed & blinded to “The Dark Side,” thus failing to see the escaping escapees Rove, Gonzales, Rumsfeld, Cheney and GW, is Right on target with “…government is the problem,” while “United We Stand,” like our school children, was “Left Behind.”
FACT: It is the natural order of things for Middle Class tax dollars to be recycled to those who enabled Banking Institutions to loan working families into late month re-runs of the “Great Depression:” Right on the Red Line from Reagan to Bush, for America’s “top of the heap,” it’s the Right connection.
FACT: Isn’t it Right that working Americans pay for their healthy sons, daughters, husbands & wives to be torn in pieces by war, leaving us with crumbling Conservatively funded schools, bridges, neighborhoods, streets and family voids sacrificed to the New World Order. That’s Right? Right? Damn Right, it is!
FACT: Thirty more pieces of silver toward overloading the bulging pockets of a Wall Street that enabled Corporations to bust the budget of borrowing American families is more Simon LaGree than “Give me your tired, your poor.” Nonetheless, “America, Love it or Leave it” still works for those who reap from the rape of the new “huddled masses…the homeless, tempest-tossed:” You & Me.
FACT: Conservatively speaking, protecting the Insurance Industry & Pharmaceutical Companies instead of our children or their grandparents is the Right reflection of the fear of Conservatives in: “In order to form a more perfect Union…” But have no fear, for BLACKWATER will soon be Right on your street corner saving you from what’s Left.
FACT: In a Lobbied Congress of 218 Republicans and 52 Conservative Democrats, there is no 60 vote majority for those who are stuck with the check at the end of the Texas Tea Party. It’s not the aromatic Bill of Rights we now breathe free. What fills our family dining room at dinner time, is the sweet smell of Conservative success in duping us out of our most stabilizing American asset: The Middle Class.
FACT: It’s the Conservative bill from the Right that is the stench stifling our personal finances. Time for “We the People” to click “refresh” and eject Conservative fear from our bank accounts. FACT: Heated exchanges in the dog days of summer solidifying a marriage of convenience between GOP and Blue Dog Democrats, even before their divorce from the American People was final, is what makes Tom Delay dance on the tombstone of “that government of the people, by the people, for the people…”
FACT: a purchased government, assisted by corporate owned showbiz oriented news media is an invaluable combination for our enlisting in the ever increasing impressive membership of “Third World Countries.” “Right On!”
FACT: Mindset of American Corporations, especially Banking Institutions is Capitalism in its purest state: “The Rich Get Rich and the Poor get Poorer;” “We the People” know “What’s good for General Motors is good for the USA:” Bankruptcy, you say? See your Conservative Congressman for an estimate today, but enclose fee to expedite.
FACT: Rightly re-directed & blinded to “The Dark Side,” thus failing to see the escaping escapees Rove, Gonzales, Rumsfeld, Cheney and GW, is Right on target with “…government is the problem,” while “United We Stand,” like our school children, was “Left Behind.”
FACT: It is the natural order of things for Middle Class tax dollars to be recycled to those who enabled Banking Institutions to loan working families into late month re-runs of the “Great Depression:” Right on the Red Line from Reagan to Bush, for America’s “top of the heap,” it’s the Right connection.
FACT: Isn’t it Right that working Americans pay for their healthy sons, daughters, husbands & wives to be torn in pieces by war, leaving us with crumbling Conservatively funded schools, bridges, neighborhoods, streets and family voids sacrificed to the New World Order. That’s Right? Right? Damn Right, it is!
FACT: Thirty more pieces of silver toward overloading the bulging pockets of a Wall Street that enabled Corporations to bust the budget of borrowing American families is more Simon LaGree than “Give me your tired, your poor.” Nonetheless, “America, Love it or Leave it” still works for those who reap from the rape of the new “huddled masses…the homeless, tempest-tossed:” You & Me.
FACT: Conservatively speaking, protecting the Insurance Industry & Pharmaceutical Companies instead of our children or their grandparents is the Right reflection of the fear of Conservatives in: “In order to form a more perfect Union…” But have no fear, for BLACKWATER will soon be Right on your street corner saving you from what’s Left.
FACT: In a Lobbied Congress of 218 Republicans and 52 Conservative Democrats, there is no 60 vote majority for those who are stuck with the check at the end of the Texas Tea Party. It’s not the aromatic Bill of Rights we now breathe free. What fills our family dining room at dinner time, is the sweet smell of Conservative success in duping us out of our most stabilizing American asset: The Middle Class.
FACT: It’s the Conservative bill from the Right that is the stench stifling our personal finances. Time for “We the People” to click “refresh” and eject Conservative fear from our bank accounts. “LET’s SLOW DOWN and GET THIS RIGHT!”
Yeah, I’m RIGHT there with “Waterloo” Senator Jim DeMint. I mean, where did moving forward ever get us but in unfamiliar territory, and then what, “Single Payer?!?” Conservatives are RIGHT about HEALTH CARE Reform killing off the old people, poof Alzheimer’s, all gone. Like my daddy told Truman, “Harry, what in God’s name is the hurry? As far as I can see, throughout the Halls of Congress, everyone is covered, at least their asses.” “To the right, ever to the right; Never to the left, forever to the right; May our creed be never to exceed; Regulated speed, no matter what the need.”
Now all of a sudden our HEALTH CARE system isn’t good enough. This is all the fault of FDR giving LBJ “Great Society” ideas. We’ve always been Great for the RIGHT people. Next thing they’ll be drudging up JFK and claiming that HEALTH CARE too, “is a moral issue as old as the scriptures and as solid as the Constitution.” The Declaration of Independence may offer “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, but the Constitution says nothing about HEALTH CARE for all Americans. Getting a Driver’s License is the RIGHT way to think about this: HEALTH CARE is a privilege (not a right) rewarded by locals, and we can trust them (a lot more than some foreigner from Hawaii) to get it RIGHT.
RIGHT now, healing HEALTH CARE is just way too reckless and painful an adjustment. Isn’t it enough we can’t use the N word in public anymore. I mean being Red is RIGHT as long as you stick to the code: “To the right, ever to the right; Never to the left, forever to the right; We have gold, a market that will hold; Tradition that is old, a reluctance to be bold.” Now being RIGHT may sound like FRIGHT, but those that’s got the Gold makes the rules, and what’s RIGHT can always scare up enough frantic support. Reagan was RIGHT: the economy can take care of itself. The best thing our Government can do is allow America’s major corporations to boost the American economy from the top down. Obviously Corporate leadership knows the RIGHT way to take care of the Middle Class and lower income citizens; RIGHT people don’t need government. They stimulate the old fashioned way, by investing their Golden Parachutes in as many yachts, mansions and high tech obsolete war munitions, as possible. Then the rest of us will see some money. Now, in your heart of hearts, you know that’s RIGHT, RIGHT?
“Change” is a foreign concept to the institutionalized, be they Bankers, Insurance & Pharmaceutical Boards, or even those who’ll do all the RIGHT things to maintain their Capital Hill employment security. Besides, when did Progressive thinking become a good thing for real Americans. What’s wrong with being RIGHT all of a sudden? I mean, where would we be now if it weren’t for such great Americans like war mongers Rumsfeld & Wolfawitz, or Defenders of Justice Gonzales & Addington, or Constitutional script doctors Yoo & Rove, or the out of sight, but not out of commission, shell game artist: Tom DeLay; not to mention my personal favorite for whom we’ll all end up bending over to support -- Super Dick: Cheney. Now that’s what’s RIGHT about America!
RIGHT now I’m certain Mitch McConnell, John Boehner and Bill Kristol already know what The C Street FAMILY has decided is RIGHT HEALTH CARE for the rest of us. “The FAMILY” is the proof of the Righteousness of the RIGHT. “Cancer on the Presidency” be damned. Doug Coe and Family are now RIGHT in the Congress: “Boil, Boil, Toil and Trouble.”

THE CLOCK IS TICKING
As Jack knows, nothing wakes a sleeping giant so much as something that stinks. So, are you awake America, because it still smells RIGHT. The Truth is, our banking institutions and their credit card policies, break no laws. Indeed, it’s quite believable that they are run by law abiding citizens, RIGHT off our shores. True, we’ve been damaged by such RIGHT guys. So forget the snooze button. Heed the alarm. Rise up and answer this call to action. It’s TIME!
“Yes We Can” re-direct the greed of banks and the energy of corporate boards, by personally engaging and focusing our government into the Power of Universal Health Care and EDUCATION! Knowledge is Power for our children’s future, but Wisdom, is the Power we have today, over Government & Corporate Execs, who prey. Tick Tock. Stop their clock.
TIME to turn off those talking heads: the public face of those who duped us into poverty in the first place. TIME to Purge, Cleanse and Purify ourselves of the residue of darkness, the masters of Halliburton and of that Rovian re-direction. Tick Tock. Reset your clock.
TIME “to preserve, protect and defend,” not what is RIGHT, but what is Correct, Responsible and from Within. TIME to hold the “money changers” accountable, be they banks, credit card companies or lobbyists who put their financial gain above the good of our Communities, Neighborhoods, Physical & Mental Health, Education and Children! Tick Tock, before the clock strikes again.
TIME YES, to run on the banks, but not the way you think. No, unlike the Constitutional interpretations of John Yoo & Alberto Gonzales, you’ll find no advocates of violence here, nor suggestions that you stuff your mattress with what’s left over after “bailouts.” However, it is TIME to identify the enemy, and stop rewarding those who pick your family’s pockets. TIME to change, for the RIGHT Way is the Wrong Way. Tick Tock. Start your Stop Watch.
TIME to put banks on notice. TIME you realized “Money Talks” best, when it walks with Education and Universal Health Care. TIME to divorce Insurance Companies and marry what’s LEFT. Tick Tock. Now clock in.
TIME to Stop the Greedy at the top, by denying their access to your bottom line. TIME to realize your deposits are the money banks need to borrow from you. TIME to seek repayment, in low interest rates, reasonable credit lines and flexible due dates. Greed and guilt, breed their over-kill reaction. Banks are scared, so we need not fear. Any cash you move gets it done, for “United we Stand” and “We The People,” are one. TIME to Ask, Seek, Knock. Tick Tock. Restart your clock.
TIME to start paying for the important things, like Universal Health Care and our Children’s Education. “A Wise Man is hungry for TRUTH, while the fool feeds on trash” … Proverbs 15
Recently I watched FROST/NIXON for the first time, years after I Directed “Nixon’s Nixon,” (then titled NIXON & KISSENGER) at the Circle Rep Theatre, in New York City, by masterful playwright, Russell Lees. For the most part, the film was as boring as a docudrama can be, when we forget that to educate, we must first entertain. Nonetheless, the last 30 minutes of the film were as moving and disturbing as the real events. This due primarily, to its prequel (The Assassinations of the 60’s) and its sequel, (the election of George W Bush & Dick Cheney – twice).
Needless to say, I wept deeply all over again, not for Nixon, despite Frank Langella’s brilliant portrayal of the Constitutional betrayer. I wept for America and all Americans everywhere, because for all of the hard lessons of Watergate, “We the People” still allowed the Bush League of Cheney, Rove et al, to drag us once again, through the mud of Treason, Murder of our youth in Iraq & Afghanistan and a loss of our International Integrity.
Despite the white wash of our history text books, we were never an innocent people, perfect in every way, but at least we wanted to be. Unlike the CIA, we were born out of an ideal of national brotherly love. Unlike Dick Cheney, we dared to dream of leading the world by the very highest and best example of the Golden Rule. Yet, for eight years, “We the People” allowed a government steeped in secrets, lies and joint ventures with corrupt banking institutions, Corporate greed and CIA Secret Prisons, to redefine us.
Not even Watergate made us submit to that. We dethroned the villains then. Shouldn’t we at least imprison them now?

Listen to our Mirror on the Mall
During the dark ages of the Bush League, it was perhaps too difficult to hear the prologue of The Reasonable Voice over the demons of rhetoric promoting fear and confusion, but as we discover just how far we’ve drifted out of tune with our world, perhaps in celebration of the election of our new President, we can, once again hear (& listen to) the harmony of The Reasonable Voice within.
From time to time, most of us seem to resist the pain of facing the music for what is good for us: school, exercise, healthy diet, reading, alone time and taking/making the time to really Listen to the Truth. Listen to our children, our neighbors; Listen to the birds singing and the wind in the trees; Listen to what strangers are saying (even those who speak against us), but most of all, Listen to those leaders who claim to speak for us. Once again The Reasonable Voice invites all Americans, regardless of political persuasion to take a little time to Listen to the diverging sounds all around us, and still the dissonance such noises cause, with the peace that comes with Listening to all points of view. In such moments, you may even hear your own true nature speak to you. It may be frightening or even shameful at first, but Listen until you hear the whispering sixth grader from within. That’s your Reasonable Voice.
Listening to your Reasonable Voice will rekindle in you, a goals filled purpose and visionary mission of hope for the resurrection of a principled America, which could offer again the promise of the equality of dreams. Within the refrains of chest beating at our victory over pirates & patriotic rhetoric, perhaps we should also welcome (if not encourage) the emerging pulse of Political Revolution, if we are to create an American restoration, with any hope of replacing the darkness and residue of Rove, Cheney & Bush. Let our National Chorus celebrate peace & International Humanity, as well as the defeat of piracy. Let 2009 revive our sense of a Happy International New Year that is worthy of our Nation’s creation, as well as our Nation’s Creator. Listen to the truth about our leadership; then Listen to the truth about what constitutes real Leadership. Listen to the morality of The Golden Rule; then Listen to the immorality of our recent Administration. Listen, then revolt against those whose governance continues to be so revolting, for their residue still permeates our CIA & Justice Dept.
Listen to the crescendo of reason stirring & steering within you. Then follow as it leads you to reject the disharmony and dishonesty of those who have wiped their feet on our Constitution while pretending to revere our Flag and values. Listen to the growing drum beat for prosperity, peace and equality, then march to the heart beat of human decency. March to the voices of Freedom crying out from the wilderness of the Bush years, yearning to accelerate us into a future of renewed National Honor.
The Reasonable Voice invites you to stop dancing to the tune of despots, and reexamine the composition of your dreams, the definition of your country and the depth of your soul! It is not enough to follow the dreamer, You Must Be The Dream! Full Stop!!! This is not a call to look back to a calmer, happier more peaceful time. Far too many politicians have used this ploy to wreak havoc on our present and future. If there ever was a calmer, happier and more peaceful time, it was long before Pearl Harbor, or even 1900, and if you keep looking back, you’ll find civil war, slavery, the massacre of Native Americans, taxation without representation (yes, even then), and of course Revolution – and that’s just American History. No, if we are to find that imagined magic time of peace, we need to recognize the myth we keep passing along to our grandchildren for what it is – a white wash, a most incomplete picture, indeed, a lie that allows the composition of duets like Abramoff & DeLay, Rove & Gonzalez and the ever dark comedy of Bush & Cheney. If we truly seek Peace of Heart, Peace of Spirit and Peace of Mind, then we need to stop expecting it to flow from the wells of corruption. Far better for us to ask, seek & knock at the mirror of our soul.
What we seek is, and always has been found in the silence of Listening to our Reasonable Voice – our international humanitarian within, if you will. The Reasonable Voice is your guide to what really matters, the essence of what it means to be “A Human Being,” for one can not be a good American, without first being a good Human Being.

Now Listen: As John Donne would agree, all of us on this planet are a piece of the great mosaic in which we live. By redirecting our attention and “To Do” list to what is most important to humanity, we save our families and our world. Like it or not, Shakespeare was right, the World is the Stage on which we are performing and “to those that much is given, much is expected.” So do we wish to cast ourselves in the role of the villain invader, or are we willing to recommit to be the international good guys. Yes, “Charity begins at home,” but our home is the Earth & all that live upon it.
First, always LISTEN to the Children of the World (& not just with your ears) and as you love your children, love all Human Beings.
Second, understand it is America’s raison d’être to lead by example – the example of an International Golden Rule.
Third, your Reasonable Voice is the truth that is seeking to set you free, and you need look no further for it, than the truth in your mirror.

From time to time, most of us seem to resist the pain of facing the music for what is good for us: school, exercise, healthy diet, reading, alone time and taking/making the time to really Listen to the Truth. Listen to our children, our neighbors; Listen to the birds singing and the wind in the trees; Listen to what strangers are saying (even those who speak against us), but most of all, Listen to those leaders who claim to speak for us. Once again The Reasonable Voice invites all Americans, regardless of political persuasion to take a little time to Listen to the diverging sounds all around us, and still the dissonance such noises cause, with the peace that comes with Listening to all points of view. In such moments, you may even hear your own true nature speak to you. It may be frightening or even shameful at first, but Listen until you hear the whispering sixth grader from within. Let our National Chorus celebrate peace & International Humanity, as well as the defeat of piracy. Let 2009 revive our sense of a Happy International New Year that is worthy of our Nation’s creation, as well as our Nation’s Creator.
